Statuses
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Awaiting approval | A request waiting for a decision. |

| Declined | The manager declined the request, with a reason. |
| Canceled | The request was withdrawn, or the time off was canceled. |
Rules
| Rule | Detail |
|---|---|
| Counting | Time off is counted in each person's own business days and hours: days they don't normally work and public holidays don't count. |
| Length | At most one year. Part of a day needs a start and an end time. |
| Overlaps | Time off can't overlap other time off of the same person. |
| The past | You can't request time off in the past. A manager or administrator can record it. |
| Approval | Types that need approval wait for the manager. Others take effect at once, and the manager is told. Time off a manager records is approved at once. |
| No approver | If nobody can approve for a person, their request is approved at once. |
| Changes | Approved time off that you make longer or move goes back to your manager, unless its type needs no approval. Making it shorter keeps it approved. |
| Balance | A request over the balance is allowed; the manager decides. |
| Your own | Nobody can approve their own time off. |
