Manage currencies

Updated October 30, 2026 · Applies to Stakeholder ONE 1.3

Projects in Stakeholder ONE can record their budget and costs in different currencies. You define which currencies are available, and how each one converts to your default currency, which the app uses to compare and total amounts.

Prerequisites

  • The System Administrator role, or a role with the Administer permission.

Add a currency

  1. Select your avatar, and then select Currencies.

  2. Select Add currency.

  3. Enter the following information:

    Field Description
Code The three-letter ISO 4217 code, for example USD or EUR.
Name The display name, for example "US Dollar".
Rate to default currency How many units of the default currency one unit of this currency is worth. For example, if the default is USD and 1 EUR = 1.08 USD, enter 1.08.
  4. Select Add.

The first currency you add becomes the default, with a rate of 1.

Update an exchange rate

Stakeholder ONE doesn't update rates automatically. To change one:

  1. Select Edit on the currency's row.
  2. Change Rate to default currency, and then select Save.

Change the default currency

  1. Select Make default on the currency's row, and confirm.

Stakeholder ONE recalculates every other currency's rate relative to the new default.

Delete a currency

  1. Select Delete on the currency's row, and confirm.

You can't delete the default currency. Projects that still use a currency must be changed to another currency before you can delete it.
